Set in a terrifyingly brutal Rome-like world, An Ember in the Ashes is an epic fantasy debut about an orphan fighting for her family and a soldier fighting for his freedom. It’s a story that’s literally burning to be told.

Mysterious doors with lizard-head knobs. Talking stone statues. A crazy girl with a hatchet. Yep, Liv’s dreams have been pretty weird lately. Especially this one where she’s in a graveyard at night, watching four boys perform dark magic rituals.

They’re classmates from her new school in London, the school where’s she’s starting over because her mom has moved them to a new country (again). But they seem to know things about her in real life that they couldn’t possibly know, which is mystifying. Then again, Liv could never resist a good

ALA Midwinter recap

Day One (Saturday)

The day before ALA, I was super nervous and anxious. I was following the Twitter hashtag #alamw15 to see the opening madness of the exhibits. It just got me even more pumped up!! I couldn't wait to go to the next day.

When I got there, I actually entered the wrong building and if it weren't for the security guards who told the two ladies in front of me where the event really was, I would have gotten lost. But I followed them and thankfully the building was connected to the right building.

This was exactly why I wanted to get there 30 minutes early and it worked to my advantage. I was able to to go to the "registered in advance" counters and picked up my badge and tote. And I had

February's TBR Thursday!!

TBR Thursday is a meme I created so that it could help me keep track of the books I want to read for the month. And just help me cross off TBR books that are advanced reader's copies and books that are just collecting dust on our shelves. On the last day of every month as part of my monthly wrap-up, I will recap how I did (Books read, reviews posted, and my Top Three books of the month.)
