*Thank you so much to Sourcebooks Fire for providing me with an advance reading copy in exchange for an honest review.*

The first time I heard about this was when people were so excited about it in BEA 2015. That's when I decided to add it. I was lucky enough to get an early copy and I was so pumped to read it!!

I thought the premise of the plot was just unique and I was so interested to see how Marieke would handle it. But the story just wasn't engaging whatsoever. I've seen so many people love it which makes it so sad that I could not get into it.

I DNFed it at 78% into it. It's probably stupid because I was almost finished. But to be honest, it didn't really feel like I was reading it. It was more like I was reading it but I wasn't really catching the words. It was like a blur. Once I put it down, it was the end for me. And I wasn't thinking about it nor did I have the urge to pick it right back up.

I just didn't want to bother.

I did cry once which is weird because I felt bad for the characters but they were just there. I had no attachment or deep connections with them. But this is a reason why I think other readers could enjoy this but it just wasn't doing it for me.

I think the story could have done better without all the different point of views because I did have a bit trouble keeping up with all of them. And the duration of the story is only an hour so I don't think that was enough time for some character development.

If you are sensitive to school shootings or violence in general, I would advice you to not pick this up.

Did Not Finish!
