Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came.

She can't believe Daemon welcomed his race or stood by as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become an emotion that could destroy her—could destroy them all.

Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal.

They must team with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumbling around them, they may lose everything— even what they cherish most—to ensure the survival of their friends…and mankind.

War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing.

My Thoughts:

When I heard that Jennifer was having a contest called 12 Days of Daemon Black for a chance to win Opposition, I immediately entered myself in. But never in a million years did I imagine myself to win. It was EPIC!! I literally jumped up and down that my mother thought I was crazy. I was even more happy when I finally got it and I loved how she signed my books. There was some major fangirling moments like this...

Now I may warn you that I might have gone completely overboard with the gifs. I figured, it's Opposition so it's very appropriate, considering that it's the last book in the series.

Me when I saw that I won a copy of Opposition...

Me when I received my copy...

My Review:

There were tears, laughter, fear, frustration, and happiness but the ending is one that you won't see coming. Get ready for the epic conclusion to one of the most anticipated YA books of 2014. Jennifer L. Armentrout delivers the perfect ending to the best selling series.
Opposition picked up where Origin left us, Daemon, Dawson, and Dee are gone. They freely left with the newly arrived Luxen. It's not apparent as to what side Daemon is on. But we know one thing about him, he's fiercely protective and will do anything to keep those he loves away from harm. And the newly arrived Luxen are so cold, so vicious.
They have no mercy as they kill innocent humans. And we practically see the world crumbling down since Daemon and the Luxen exposed themselves in Las Vegas. And now they have to face the consequences. Katy and Daemon have to stick together, now more than ever in this epic adventure to save the world.
Many surprises came along the way. Some of them were rocking my world, then there the ones that weren't so rocking. There was a new revelation about Katy and Daemon's connection that I'm not sure if I should be happy or not. And there were questions answered here and there. But there was also things left unanswered. There was so many things going on and I was really scared at some point because of all the twists and turns that was happening. This after all, is the end of the world as we know. There really is no safe spot to hide.
Our favorite heroine, Katy Swartz, as ever continues to be the little hybrid baddass. She's come a long  way from when we first saw her in Obsidian. She's able to stand up for herself and we learn that she is willing to sacrifice herself for the greater good. Even if she is afraid. That's what I love about her so much. That. And the fact that she loves to read and that she thinks book boyfriends are so much better. And I liked how Katy's mind was quite a rush of humor. "She tipped her head back and started laughing, and I started picturing people twerking--everyone in the limo."

Our sexy green-eyed alien, Daemon Black, never fails to amaze me. Everything that comes out of his mouth makes me love him more and more. He'd do anything to protect Katy and his family. And I'll never regret liking him even when he was such a jerk. Because he really knows how to show people that he cares a lot. And it was such a pleasure being in Daemon's mind again. His thoughts are dirtier than ever. "Great. Now I would be a walking hard-on all morning."
The relationship between Katy and Daemon truly evolved into something more precious and never-ending. The scenes between those two are explosive as they always are. Daemon and Katy have come a really long way in their relationship. And there are just these beautiful moments when they start to recall their past together.
New characters were introduced in Opposition. And I must say, some of them really irked me. We meet a female that challenges Ash for the most-detestable character. I seriously hate Sadi for getting touchy and flirty with Daemon. Then we had the pleasure of meeting the leader of the Arum.
The Arum is leader is seriously the most demented, creepiest person I've ever read about. I really felt like Katy and Daemon were walking into a cult or something. He's just crazy and glad he's just a book character. But if he wasn't included in the book then there really would have been no point in why Hunter, Serena, or Lore would be making an appearance. I absolutely enjoyed seeing them again. And seeing Hunter's brother, Lore, made me laugh. Gosh I loved him. But I was saddened when we didn't get to see an appearance by some old characters. But we also saw Luc...

This is what felt for Luc...

I'm pretty sure that Luc is now on my book boyfriend list. He's my cuddly buddy. I effing love him and his adorkable, zombie-loving ways. But disappointed that he's not a hugging person. I loved that we got to see more of Luc since he has become a favorite character of mine. Random things are always occurring with that kid around. He's a bucket full of fun. Then we had Archer, the sexy military man. He's so gorgeous and down right hilarious. I enjoyed watching him annoy Daemon and then scenes with Dee... Speaking of Dee, she acted like a complete bitch like she did in Opal when she wanted revenge on Blake and put blame on Katy. We soon learn the reason for that.
Overall, Jennifer L. Armentrout has created such a beautiful love between two characters that is so deep and eternal and will forever last. And I am so thankful to have given this series a chance. I'll never forget the glorious Daemon Black and the enduring Katy Swartz. Or should I say Mrs. Black ;) I absolutely loved Opposition but I also hated it; not because it wasn't good enough because believe it was so unbelievably good. It's just that it's over, OVER. That means no more Daemon, no more Katy, no more swoon worthy moments.

This was definitely me when I finished Opposition...

  1. There are things left unanswered? Oh man, this is what I've been fearing. And new things about Katy and Daemon's connection? Can't they fix that with Prometheus? Anyway I'll read it soon enough and I'll call on you on FB to chat about it, if you have the time. What time are you free, in terms of EST?

    1. It's more like wanting to know what happens afterwards when the story ends. But it was still good.
Any time, my time is CST so I'm just one hour behind. So maybe after 11am.
