Describe A Wicked Thing as if you were going to tweet about it.

Is it going to be a standalone or a series? If it's a series, can you tell us anything about what we can expect from book 2?
There’s a book 2! All I’m going to say about it is that it involves dragons.
How do you feel about your very first book coming out?
Is there a word that means “excited and terrified”? Because that would sum it up.
Is Sleeping Beauty your favorite Disney princess?
Actually, no. Sleeping Beauty is such a gorgeous, underrated Disney movie, but Aurora doesn’t really get much to do. It’s definitely more the story of the fairies and Maleficent. I think my favorite Disney Princess is Rapunzel.
Do you believe in "true love"?
Oooo, this is a difficult question to answer. Depends on what you mean by “true love,” I guess. I don’t believe that there’s one person in the world that’s a perfect match for each of us, and I don’t believe in love at first sight, because first impressions can be so deceiving! But having a love of your life? Yeah, I can believe in that.
How would you react if you were in the same situation as Princess Aurora?
Very badly! I would probably freak out and cry. Whenever I think of those fictional “what would I do in this dramatic situation?” scenarios, the answer is almost always “hide” and/or “cry.” But I think once I got over that, I’d probably read every book I could find, to learn everything that had happened. And then do lots of exploring!
What did you think of the stunningly gorgeous cover when you first saw it?
I’ll be honest, it took me a couple of days to really see the cover and adjust to it being THE cover of my book. After the story was coverless for so long, I think any cover would have felt strange at first. But I LOVE it. I know people say ball gown covers are overdone, but I am a total sucker for a cover with a pretty dress, and I love the way the cover designers combined the beautiful wedding theme with the creepy crypt vibe.
Are there any plans or new books you have for the near future after A Wicked Thing?
I’ve juuust started working on my next book, which is another YA fantasy called Long May She Reign. It’s about a shy girl scientist who ends up as queen when the entire court is assassinated at a ball. It’s proving a lot of fun to write so far!

Rhiannon Thomas is a recent graduate from Princeton University, where she studied English and Japanese, and smuggled bubble tea into the library on a regular basis. She now lives in York, England.

I'm so intrigued by this novel's concept; I've been waiting for a "part two" of Sleeping Beauty for ages. I wrote my undergraduate thesis on feminist fairy tale retellings, and now my graduate work revolves around them, so I'm a little obsessed, and A Wicked Thing has been on my Goodreads to-read shelf for months for that reason. I'd be "wicked" lucky to get a copy of this for the giveaway.
