Some loves will last ’til your dying breath.
Every choice has consequences—but seventeen-year-old Layla faces tougher choices than most. Light or darkness. Wickedly sexy demon prince Roth, or Zayne, the gorgeous, protective Warden she never thought could be hers. Hardest of all, Layla has to decide which side of herself to trust.
Layla has a new problem, too. A Lilin—the deadliest of demons—has been unleashed, wreaking havoc on those around her…including her best friend. To keep Sam from a fate much, much worse than death, Layla must strike a deal with the enemy while saving her city—and her race—from destruction.
Torn between two worlds and two different boys, Layla has no certainties, least of all survival, especially when an old bargain comes back to haunt them all. But sometimes, when secrets are everywhere and the truth seems unknowable, you have to listen to your heart, pick a side—and then fight like hell…
Why I'm Waiting:
You guys know I love Jennifer's books!! I love this series and it's very sad to see it come to an end when it barely felt like it was just starting. And I also want to see who Layla ends up being with. I think it's really obvious who the more popular choice is and I'm okay with that. I just want to know what Jennifer will do to the guy that doesn't end up with Layla. I just hope nobody dies...
I've only read two JLA books so far (Obsidian, which I hated, and Half Blood, which I enjoyed), but I haven't started this series. I'll probably binge it once the entire series is out. :) I hope you enjoy this one when you get to read it, Karina! :)

I'm sorry you didn't like Obsidian. It's one of my favorites. But I think this series is different and more likable, I think :)
DeleteOK...while I enjoy this series I must ask "Why the cover change?" The first covers weren't that great either but I think this one is worse. I wish she had better covers sometimes because she is a great author and I bet she loses some readers who just aren't drawn in.
ReplyDeleteI also agree. I didn't like the old covers because it made it seem like a new adult romance series. While I don't necessarily like these covers that much, I think it makes it seem more YA and paranormal.
DeleteI'm always WoW'g on anything that Jennifer Armentrout writes. This one sounds really really good. I've added it to my list.
