Can Evie convince her rival loves to work together? Their survival depends on it in this third book of #1 New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole's Arcana Chronicles, a nonstop action tale of rescue, redemption, and a revenge most wicked.

Heartbreaking decisions
Evie was almost seduced by the life of comfort that Death offered her, until Jack was threatened by two of the most horrific Arcana, The Lovers. She will do anything to save him, even escape Death's uncanny prison, full of beautiful objects, material comforts and stolen glances from a former love.

Uncertain victory
Despite leaving a part of her heart behind with Death, Evie sets out into a frozen and perilous post-apocalyptic wasteland to meet up with her allies and

launch an attack on The Lovers and the vast army they command. Such formidable enemies require a battle plan, and the only way to kill them once and for all may mean Evie, Jack, and Death allying. Evie doesn't know what will prove more impossible: surviving slavers, plague, Bagmen and other Arcana or convincing Jack and Death to work together.

Two heroes returned
There's a thin line between love and hate, and Evie just doesn't know where she stands with either Jack or Death. Will this unlikely trio be able to defeat The Lovers without killing one another first?

My Review:

Dead of Winter was one of my most anticipated books of 2015. And now it has come and gone!! But alas, it has surpassed my high expectations for it especially because the second book was just so intense. I read this in literally one day!! From the moment I picked it up, I could not stop reading it.

It left me with heart-gripping emotions. That ending was so insane. It's such a big cliffhanger. I need the fourth book right now. It's just like... I don't know what to think. It's just mind-blowing and filled with craziness. It leaves you uncertain of the fate of our beloved main characters.

Evie continues to learn more new things about her as the red witch. She's also got an extremely hard decision to make. Her love for Jack seems fated but what she has with Aric is endless. My heart broke for all three of them. It just broke my heart. But at the same time, there were some awesomely put together scenes between Jack and Aric. I felt like they started bonding and that was just crazy. And I especially loved the scene where they both got drunk. It was hilarious.

I sort of lost interest in Jack. Maybe I was just a little mad at him in this book. Believe me I still love him. But he didn't want to trust Evie with some secrets. He kind of changed since he was tortured by The Lovers.

Death has made me fall even more in love with him. We get to know him a lot better in this book. He's just so unreal and gorgeous.

I honestly thought that I would be happy with Evie choosing either of the guys but I was completely wrong. I was left on Team Confused by the ending. It's just that if Evie chooses Jack, Aric is left to be eternally alone unable to be with anyone. And if Evie chooses Aric, I believe that Jack would be become so miserable for the rest of his existence. They both truly love her. This is so frustrating in a good way.

But when Evie decides, things turn for the worse because a certain character's fate is left uncertain. Her choice kind of made me almost lose my mind!!

New revelations are revealed about The Lovers. We get to know why they do what they do. And their connection with The Empress. It's quite shocking. And they still continue to creep me out. They are completely psychos!!

We get to meet two new arcana players, The Emperor and The Priestess. And I don't like them by the way. Tess (The World card), starts to learn her powers.

Kresley Cole sure knows how to write a heart-impacting story that just grips you with emotions!!

  2. AAH!! The worst thing happened to me! I bought the book on the release day, and I finished it two days ago, BUT MY BOOK IS MISSING THE LAST FEW CHAPTERS!! Instead of having 330 pages, my book only has 303 pages!!! So I'm at the part where Evie picks "you know who" and she's chasing after him... and thats where it end! I'm dying to read the ending right now!
I'm so glad you loved the book. This is one of my favourite series ever!
